How do I test my live stream's latency?

Why is my live stream buffering?

Buffering means viewers can't pull segments as fast as they play. Usual causes: low bandwidth headroom, a broken quality rung, or an origin far from the viewer. Pulse reports throughput headroom, ladder health and per-region delivery so you can see exactly where the risk is.

What is a good live-stream latency?

Standard HLS runs 15–30 s behind live. Low-latency HLS reaches 2–5 s. WebRTC delivers sub-second (< 500 ms). If your product is interactive — betting, auctions, live shopping, Q&A — you want sub-second; anything above ~5 s breaks the experience.

How do I check HLS or WHEP stream quality online?
